What is Coaching?

Collaborative Work with a Powerful Impact:
I became a coach because of the direct and positive impact that coaching has on my clients’ lives. Through focused and collaborative sessions I have the privilege each day of watching my clients become more engaged and active players in creating the lives that they want to lead.

Change in service of Personal Fulfillment: I am fascinated by the opportunities that unfold as we are faced with change. At its essence, coaching is about learning how to work with change in your life, whether it is the kind of change that is intentionally sought after, or the kind that is thrust upon you. Through our work together, you will come to see change as an opportunity (sometimes an opportunity-in-disguise) to take a close look at what you truly want and develop the tools to make it happen. 

Empowerment and Resourcefulness: Fostering human connection and empowering individuals to make choices based on what is most important to them is the most powerful part of my work as a coach. Based on my co-active coach training, my approach is rooted in the belief that we, as human beings, are innately creative and resourceful, and through coaching I can help clients connect (or re-connect) with this core place from within.  It is from this place that meaningful change takes shape and emerges. 

Is Coaching Right for Me?

Every coach-client relationship is different, and finding the right coach for you is critical to your success. When looking to hire a coach, I suggest considering the following questions:

  1.  What is the coach’s communication and listening style? Can I trust this person to give me honest feedback, to be non-judgmental, and to support my goals?
  2. Will this coach actually challenge me and help me grow?
  3. Will this coach champion my best self and hold space for it to come forward, even when I cannot do so on my own?
  4. Can I count on this coach to be professional, committed to the coaching process, and always communicate expectations?
